Expansion of Production
DRUJBA GLASSWORKS SA, the major glass packaging manufacturer on the Balkan peninsula, has started a major expansion of its production capacity. A new glass-melting furnace is under construction at the Plovdiv facility site.The new facility is DRUJBA GLASSWORKS' response to the increasing demand for glass containers, needed for the growing sales of both the local and the UK markets, as well as the higher international demand for environmentally-friendly and safe packaging materials.
In the beginning of 2008 a new furnace and glass-forming line will be launched at the Plovdiv site of DRUJBA GLASSWORKS. The new furnace will operate under the latest environment-saving practices at an output of 100 million bottles p.a.
Plans are already underway for a further furnace to be completed by the end of 2008.
